About Work
Koela Bagchi, a professional photographer, captures theatre, cinema, and everyday life through her lens. She documented the Bengali play Badsahi Angti, inspired by Satyajit Ray, recreating its iconic atmosphere. As a still photographer for Suman Mukhopadhyay’s Putul Nacher Itikotha, she documented both performances and behind-the-scenes moments.
Her work extends to rural West Bengal, where she photographs tribal fairs and community life, capturing the deep connections among people. She also documents theatre performances, including a moving one-act play by Goutam Halder. In collaboration with an NGO supporting trafficking survivors, she captured a powerful image of a mother and child, symbolizing resilience. Her work reflects the beauty, struggles, and emotions that define human experiences.
